Key words: Pathological gambling / Teenagers / SOGS / Incidence.

Studies about the incidence of pathological gambling in teenagers show that the prevalence of this problem is from 3 to 4 times higher than the prevalence in adults.

By means of the SOGS questionnaires (Lesieur & Blume, 1987), we aimed to detect pathological gamblers in a teenagers sample, composed by 153 ss, ranging from 18 years old or less, and finding that the 2.6% of the subject of the sample were classified as possible pathological gamblers.

In order to carry out a qualitative analysis of the SOGS scores, we compared SOGS-results of the individuals classified as pathological gamblers with results of people who looking for helping to quit gambling (gamblers in rehabilitation).

In conclusion, in ages below 18, the incidence rate of pathological gambling is high according to SOGS (Lesieur & Blume, 1987), although it is necessary an adaptation for the social-economical reality in these ages, due to this factor could increase the prevalence of this problem in this range age.
